C Us do Framework

Strecher to carry finished Canoe (98) The Strecher - Before any of the actual Canoe was poured we made a simple stretcher so that we could build the canoe on and carry it to the competition.
Attaching the Stretcher to the Saw Horses (99) First Big Mistake - While Building Red Storm Rising our first mistake was the screw the stretcher down to the saw horses. When the Canoe was complete we realized that there was no way for us to take those screws out. This year, to correct that error we put the screws in from the bottom.
Cutting the Bulkheads (99) The Bulkheads - To make a perfect the canoe's hull to be shaped like the design we developed we took plots along the canoe at set intervals and traced those plots onto plywood. The resulting plywood cutouts were then used as guides when we carved the foam to the desired shape.
Sanding the Bulkheads (99)
Drilling Eyeholes (99) Alignment - Here we drill a hole though each of the Bulkheads so that we can run a single line though all of them to ensure that they are properly alignd.
Finshed Frame (98) Finished Frame - This is a picture of the finshed frame for Red Storm Rising. Now that the Framework is complete we move on to the mold.
