Email was usually delayed several hours at Raytheon because of union rules.
Messages that arrived at their Lexington, MA facility were spooled to tape
and delivered to each of their facilities by millwrights (IBEW). The
millwrights then gave the tapes to the unionized computer operator, who
despooled the email.
