This set of walk-thrus is designed for finishing Hitman 2 with perfect statistics on the hardest difficulty. As will become clear, totally perfect statistics are nearly impossible due to certain level designs or mission requirements. Also, you are not a real hitman unless you use the third person view. Select a level from the list to the left to start the madness. Meanwhile, here are some tips and/or definitions for any strange abbreviations I may use in my walk-thrus.
An interesting expansion to this page would be alternate sets of walk-thrus designed for different purposes, such as speed-running, creative alternate strategies, particularly challenging methods...
Evasion - If you need to sneak by a guard but don't want to kill him or raise an alarm, you can sneak up on him and put him out with anesthetic. As long as he never sees you, he will wake up, look around, retrieve his dropped weapon, and just resume patrolling.
Animation trick - Checking your map causes some of hitman's animations to finish immediately. As a direct consequence of this, the following animations can be skipped simply by pressing your map key twice (once to bring up the map and again to return to the game) as they begin:
Picking locks
Strangulation
Changing clothes
Hitman's quirks - Strangely, 47 is more skilled at both walking and sneaking if he's doing it backwards. That's right, if you want to sneak up on someone you can do it about twice as fast just by moving backwards. Naturally, it's harder to see where you're going, but if you look straight down and walk diagonally backwards then you can see a reasonable ways behind you from the third person perspective.
Impatience - If you've got a long patrol to wait for (like the beginning of Tracking Hayamoto), a long ways to walk (At the Gates), or any other event that becomes a waste of time, a handy non-cheat is to enable the console and use IP_TimeMultiplier 2 to double the rate of time. Obviously, you can replace 2 with any multiplier you desire. To restore normal time passage, use 1. If anyone knows how to successfully bind this to a key, please let me know. Oh, and using a number less than 1 is cheating. There's nothing like getting 10 headshots in the span of 0.02 seconds.
anesthetic(n) - This is not a console command. It is just my notation for using n vials of anesthetic on a person, with a maximum of 5. A groggy person who is just waking up can be put out again immediately by applying more anesthetic, without raising an alarm. If you ever need anesthetic but don't seem to have a vial handy in your standing inventory, take five minutes to do an Anathema run to get some for free.
Here's a quick chart to show you approximately how long each dosage of anesthetic will last:
1 Vial - instant
2 Vials - 0:40
3 Vials - 1:50
4 Vials - 3:10
5 Vials - 4:30
